about

This is my RPM Challenge album for 2019. All tracks were written and recorded entirely within the month of February 2019.

In 1977 the two Voyager space probes left Earth to tour the outer planets of the Solar System, sending back amazing images of worlds hitherto unexplored. In 2012, Voyager 1 entered interstellar space, becoming the first human-made object to leave the Solar System. It was followed in 2018 by Voyager 2.

I was inspired to use this as a theme after seeing Gemma Arrowsmith's brilliant Earthling show in 2018 at the Buxton Fringe, and also at that year's Womad festival. If you get the opportunity to see it, please do. It's a very funny, and also interesting, informative and moving show: gemmaarrowsmith.com/gigs/earthling
